Zimbabwe
Joy and unity in all circumstances.

Our team of 19 young people had the privilege of spending a week in a rural village in Zimbabwe, 32km south of Victoria Falls. There, we camped our tents in a homestead and lived alongside the locals, experiencing pieces of their everyday life.
The Lord demonstrated much joy and unity in the body of Christ throughout our time in Zimbabwe.
From dancing and singing joyously at a funeral, to carrying compost and mulching in complete tandem with the local community, this has been an eye-opening experience with much food for thought for the whole team.
The Lord not only blessed us as a team, but He worked deeply in each of our lives individually and in the lives of the people around us.

A testimony from one of our team members:
“More than 1000 km away, the Lord had a divine appointment with me and a neurodivergent boy from Zimbabwe. The boy did not have a lot of friends at school who played with him, so when we were visiting homesteads as part of our ministry, I had the opportunity to love this boy with the love of Jesus, and to play with him. He laughed and rolled and jumped up and down in joy and God really used that opportunity to love him through me. It was amazing to see the joy that the Lord has placed in his heart despite his disability.” – Jayden van der Walt
A few highlights and words of wisdom from our team describing our time together in Zimbabwe:
“It was amazing seeing how the body of Christ works through our team, and through the people to our team.” – Zack Jordaan
“I experienced how our inconsistency in energy levels for Christ makes us aware of our dependence on God” – Marinus Swanepoel
“The Lord showed me how to find my comfort in Him and not run to worldly things that won’t be able to satisfy me” – Janica Schutte
“We learnt to value the wisdom, knowledge and experience of elders and to learn as much as possible from them because of their years of experience” – Johan de Villiers
“I practiced seeing God in the simple and the ordinary, and no matter the circumstance our joy is in God. And out of that we can love each other.” – Anzél Greyling
“It was a time of seeing how worship crosses borders of culture, language and race.” – Jayden van der Walt
“Working is a privilege, doing it together in unity is a gift” – Anjoe Cronje

We saw healing, and though amazing, more than that we saw the body of Christ function!
