Training 2026

Excitement, fear, and a longing for adventure. New faces, different personalities, all rushing to find their place.

A lot of emotions were experienced the first days here at Global. Strangers turned into friends, who later turned into family.

We all came together in Jeffreys Bay, from different parts of the world, all with our lives in a backpack and ready to be transformed throughout this year.

In the first few weeks of training we learnt to wake up early, be flexible, and just get to know each other. We went to different camps, praying and ministering to kids of all ages. So much growth also happened in us through these camps, giving us a hunger for God and a deep love for His people.

Through the prayer walks and J-bay challenge we got encouraged to be a lot more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and learnt to trust God with the little things. These past 2 months have been filled with challenges which provides us with spiritual, mental and emotional growth, that point towards our Lord and Saviour.

We have had the privilege of being taught by amazing people who truly shine the light of the Lord and guide us in our walk with Him, involving sessions with uncle Joe Ewen, from Scotland, on prophecy and the Holy Spirit. We also did the first Veritas course, which was such a joy to learn about Gods Word in so much depth.

Work-week was a highlight for many, deep talks in the warm sun built lifelong friendships. Uncle Norm Wakefield, from the USA, challenged us a lot in our way of thinking about God and life. The conversations with him created such an excitement and curiosity for Gods’ Word.

We have been taught how to hear the Lord’s voice, how to serve and love each other the way the Lord has intended for us. We have been in positions where we could see the Lord’s hand in our day to day life, from blessing us with a lift from the missions house to the beach, or how He can calm the winds and paint a beautiful sunset for one of our friends baptisms.

Late night McDonalds trips, mud fights in the dam and many hitchhiking adventures brought much joy.

Training was such a special time. With different people, lots of sessions, all building so much into our lives. Strong friendships and life long memories were created. These few weeks made us fall so deeply in-love with Christ. We can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for the teams, and we are excited to be a vessel for our Lord.

Until next time- East and West bound team
