Monday, as we were eating our delicious hamburger~supper, Tom and Eunice (two of the missionaries at the base in Fusa) came running in, panic~stricken faces! "There was a news flash just now!!! All tourists must immediately leave Colombia! The bus is coming to pick you up in 45 minutes!!!!"
Wow!! For a moment we just sat there, staring at each other, not knowing what's going on...and then we jumped up! Within 10 minutes our backpacks were packed, chaos everywhere!
Our hosts asked if we want to let our parents know or just inform prayer support before we leave for Bogota, where they are trying to organise a place for us to stay for the night.
Hah, I just thought I'll rather leave it to someone els to tell my parents that their 18 year old, only daughter, was deported from Colombia...
We all gathered outside our rooms, back packs packed, passports at hand ready to run to our bus! Wayne shared about Paul, and that after he was smuggled out of the city in a basket, after some people tried to kill him, the most crucial part of his ministry started! That what we think the end might be, will only be the beginning!
"Beginning of what???", went through my head, being deported from the world's ex~drug capital at 20h00 on a Monday... Where will we be going? Back to Brazil? South Africa? Venezuela? How, where, what?
And then someone took a picture, someone, everyone started laughing...
...it was an April Fools Joke!
