Will You build me a new house?

Will You build me a new house?
"We must be known for hope for the day we live in, as the purposes of God are always great. He will do everything needed, according to His promises for His victorious bride." - Bill Johnson If God doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks. If God doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap. It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know He enjoys giving rest to those He loves?(Psalm 127:1-2 MSG) It takes wisdom to build a house, and understanding to set it on a firm foundation; It takes knowledge to furnish its rooms with fine furniture and beautiful draperies. (Proverbs 24:3, 4 MSG)  My first thought about Laos was: "Why on earth do none of the locals pronounce the S in Laos?" What an emotional but triumphant experience! It was here where Jesus started to prepare us for China.  Laos was so beautiful - The people as well as the the country's rich, tragic history. We stayed in Vientiane. Our time with the local church was extremely well spent and evidently fruitful. We encouraged and supported the church while we were challenged ourselves. Jesus took us on a wild tour of Laos while we are on this journey of self discovery... just learning how to take the baby steps to finally leaping and abounding in our faith. Jesus surpasses all description and everyone's anticipation of good. He is extreme in all the right ways! We had a 'lekker' time! We celebrated Lao new year - a week long water fest!  Our team lived in a comfortable-uncomfortable guest house. Horses running upon a dried, parched land on the border of Laos and Thailand.  We had a wonderful time of fellowship around super food and coffee, did i mention that we had dragon fruit? We celebrated when we had the opportunity to wifi ;) Some of us exercised at sunset with the locals. We had an Australian man who randomly-purposefully spent time with us. We spent time soaking, pondering and praying together. Jesus is establishing my new House on the Rock... in His rest and peace, while He teaches and reveals..  Oh faithful One! My heart is called Your House, a dwelling place for You in my constant brokenness and triumph!

Nepal Fever

Nepal Fever

At first glance you won't think that Kathmandu has so much locked up in itself. It's a poor city with many rich people.

Our time in Nepal was spectacular! Oh, turquoise team! During training we could see that Jesus placed us all in this particular mini team for a reason.  We just had to wait and see when and why.. Let me introduce you to the turquoise team, just in case you need to hear from us again :) Drumroll... Madelein, Chanelle, Annique, Anseri, Quinton and Coetzee.  When I started off thinking about writing our piece for the small team I never thought that I will be able to cram two incredible weeks into one blog, never the less one word. As i was thinking of our many different experiences - just awe-struck, Jesus deposited the word Revival. Revival - it means new life. It is not n new life of self-effort or self-initiated activity. It is not man's life, but God's life, the life of Jesus filling us and flowing through us.   This is exactly what God came to do in Nepal. Our Teacher taught US. His own possessions. WeHadFUN.  As we discovered words for our time in Nepal the word fun came up. We laughed and cried. We were overwhelmed most of the time, actually.. the only times that we weren't feeling this way was when we were fast asleep. We were on a journey to discover the Body. We were constantly reminded that we all have Jesus in common. We have The Holy Spirit living inside of us.. This makes all else irrelevant. Whether we are from different nations or backgrounds, its not applicable to those who are in Christ. How Lovely, how beautiful! God established UNITY. We are now so much more aware of the Holy Spirit. We were called into the Deeper with Jesus and ever since we have this hunger inside of us - a burning flame that cannot be extinguished. God provided in the small things. Just to see how He cares so much about the smaller things, the things that might seem insignificant. God is so involved in the detail. He is always faithful in providing at the right time. The best time for us to be totally amazed and speechless. There is so much that happened in the Spirit. There was an out pour of our hearts in to the community, all because of Jesus.  What an amazing country!  You can read more on our experiences on our personal blogs.

Colourful is a 4 letter word.

Colourful is a 4 letter word.
"All of us have the devine spark within us and we so desperately need the breath of God to bring us to life and light. Jesus wants to set the church on fire so the world can warm themselves around us and find light and safety. We are here on earth to be a home and a refuge for the lost and broken. But first we must learn the art of togetherness and celebration. To welcome people into the party of true freedom of finding Jesus we must first be students of that very way of life. We need to learn to celebrate. We need to choose His joy." "You are beautiful in all of Your ways. You are colorful in the way that You save me...In the way that You give me life." The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (Job 33:4 NIV) "Take a moment to remember who God is and who I am.There You go lifting my load again. No longer am I held by the yoke of this world.Come upon you the yoke of Jesus. His yoke is easy and His burden is so light! Your love carries me out of valleys and the darkest places." - Will Reagan & United Pursuit According to a random website, with 26 letters in the English alphabet, there are 456,976 different 4 letter word combinations. 1 of my favourite 4 letter words is yoke. Jesus says in Matthew 11, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28, 29 NLT) Jesus is sooOo0 colourful. Over the last few weeks Jesus renewed, refreshed, revived and healed parts of my heart. Thank You Jesus that I am in a constant state of brokenness so that I will aaaAlways need You more.  I looooOve that Jesus displays His creativity in and through us. Duh! He created US :) We are chosen Sons and Daughters. God wrote our stories with His divine breath..   It's so beautiful when YOU allow Jesus to teach you and mold you. In Scripture one of the people visiting Job says: "I am the same as you in God’s sight; I too am a piece of clay," (Job 33:6 NIV) and in Isaiah we read: "Yet You, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, You are the Potter; we are all the work of Your hand." (Isaiah 64:8 NIV) I see Jesus colouring my story for me this year. He is bringing in splendid and awe-struck colour where there has only been grey-ness for such a long time. He will do it ALL when we continue to say YES!  God's faithfullness, is always MORE,It is beyond our understanding. It is for us and it is colourful.   "You went out to rescue Your chosen people, to save Your anointed ones." (Habbakuk 3) God is telling the ultimate story, and we part of it. (i didn't forget about love, which is another 4 letter word.. Just in case you wondered) :)
