The journey of my life.
Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19 When I started my training at Global Challenge I was filled with excitement to travel and change the world for Jesus. Little did I know that I completely missed the point. In the last few weeks of training I was very challenged about the way I spend time with Jesus and whether I am really listening to His voice. After pondering on this thought, I came to the conclusion that I was planning on going to the nations, without Jesus. Like Jesus called the deciples to be fishers of men, we too are called to spread the good news to a world in need, but it is not a road we walk alone. It is not out of our own ability to preach or pray for people that we will influence their lives, but by the power of the Holy Spirit moving in and through us. I realised that this year Jesus isn't going on a journey with me, I am going on a journey with Jesus. I desperately need Jesus. Without Him my efforts will be pointless. The key is to listen to His voice and follow what He wants to do instead of doing what I think is right. So this year I am excited to go on a journey with Jesus into the nations and I am excited to see how He is going to reveal His heart and make me a fisher of men.
God told Abram: “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you." Genesis 12:1 MSG Walking with God starts with a simple 'yes'. Everything else is provided in the journey. You just don't know when or how. Soon you start to learn that you walk by faith and not by sight... With the world's eyes we are blind, but now we truly see. Coming to Global Challenge was much like this. I heard the Lord speak and I chose to obey. What lies before me now, I do not know, but the Lord will show. God has invited me on an adventure to get to know Him as my friend. My heart is overwhelmed and filled with awe. It feels like I time traveled back to the days of Jesus and I get to be one of His disciples. The disciples never knew that when Jesus called them, that one day they will call nations that they do not know. Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17). Oh, to be Your friend my God... The journey I will embark on is called Westbound. We, as a team, will travel to the South America's and Middle East. We will GO, SERVE and SHARE the gospel with the following nations: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chille, Bolivia, South Africa, Russia, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, Jordan, Israel and Turkey. What a privilege to go to your people God. Here we go, Jesus! Give me ears to hear and eyes to see. You lead and I will follow.#
The world is telling you a lie. The world's image of perfection is NOT what we must strive for. We must strive for being in a relationship with God. Strive to get to know Him. For God is perfect and in His eyes we are perfect. No person could ever be perfect like Him.
God amazes me almost everyday even when I doubt him. He gave me my dream job working as a doctor at Zithulele, a rural hospital near Mthatha, for about 2 years. I absolutely loved the opportunity to serve my community and support my family which is very important to me.
